Educational Project Grant Awards Announced

10 Feb 2023 12:00 PM | Anonymous

The Perry Education Foundation is pleased to announce three grant awards totalling $25,000.00.

The awardees are:

Perry Stampede; Grant Award: $5,000. This project will bring life-sized fiberstock animals (think: cow, horse, goat) to PCS, a useful substitute for having live animals on campus, to provide students opportunities to study anatomy and learn saddling techniques, leg wraps, and coat colors/markings. Proposed by Veronique Woloszyn, Agriculture Teacher.

Agricultural Mechanics Small Engine Curriculum; Grant Award: $9,000.

This award supports the Technology and Agriculture Departments goal to offer a joint class on Agricultural Mechanics. The course seeks to outline major mechanical systems such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, and other concepts. The curriculum and materials will provide students with a hands-on, immersive learning experience. Proposed by Sean Sporleder, Technology teacher.

Give What You Can, Take What You Need; Grant Award $11,000
. This award supports a proposal to establish added support resources for students of the PCS District where clothing and toiletries can be accessed. Inspired by 'The Loft' in memory of Dennis Bzduch at York, the objective is to decrease stress and improve wellness by discretely and respectfully making added support available in moments where it is needed. Proposed by Emma & Tess McLaughlin, Students.

Congratulations Awardees!
